P1 children, celebrated the Epiphany in style!
The Primary 1 children had lots of fun celebrating the feast of the Epiphany today. The children enjoyed a power point presentation on the visit of the ‘Magi’ to the baby Jesus. They tracked the journey of the 3 Kings as they followed the star from the East to the humble stable in Bethlehem. The children suggested possible gifts that the Kings could have brought. They learnt about the gold, frankincense and Myrrh.
The P1 children enjoyed a visit to Holy family church where they saw the kings visiting baby Jesus in the crib. One little boy was extremely disappointed that ‘ the real baby Jesus , Mary and Joseph’ were not there. On the whole the children enjoyed the visit and delighted in lighting a candle for their own family.
THe children had fun making Smoores, which they washed down with a glass of juice. They enjoyed a visit from the principal Mr. Curran, who joined in the celebration.
P1 had an enjoyable structured play session and finished the day with a P.E lesson.
I suspect that the children will sleep well tonight!
