Activity Based Learning-Castles
26th Oct 2018
Primary 3/4 have enjoyed our Activity Based Learning sessions each week relating to our topic about Castles.
Each group has a different activity every week with a specific focus and learning objective.
Below is an outline of what each activity involves:
- The Engineers: to design and make a catapult using lollipop sticks, a spoon and elastic bands. The children then test to see how far their marshmallow will travel using the catapult they have made.
- The Artists: to draw a Castle using 2d shapes and then made a Castle model using lego.
- The Party Planners: to design an invitation to a Castle ball.
- The Researchers: to complete research online about different parts of a Castle and record the information on a worksheet.
One pupil is chosen each week to be the photographer and take pictures of the different activities. During our plenary session we then discuss what we learnt and what we can improve on.
