Wildlife in the Area

14th May 2018

Our school is in a rural place. That means that we have a lot of countryside around us and that there are a lot of animals and birds in the area. Sometimes they can get in trouble and have accidents that we could help to stop.

This bird was brought in by Marcus. His neighbour had brought it to him.

It is called a Woodcock and is quite rare in our area. Unfortunately, it flew into a conservatory window.

This is a very common thing to happen to birds and we can stop it by making sure the glass can be seen by them. The easiest way to do this is to have stickers of other birds like eagles on your windows. This will stop the birds from flying close to them.
